 Cook Helper - II
 
Part-time position (Monday to Friday) 

It is important to note that this position is part-time but will have the opportunity to train for coverage of other positions for more hours (ie:  every other weekend Cook, Kitchen Helper, etc). 

Duties include:                                                                                                                                                  (Unionized Position)  UFCW Local 832

• Assist with finalizing dinner and any dinner-related duties as assigned by supervising Cook 

 

• Serving dinner to residents  being mindful of any allergies or special diets

 

• Dinner clean up – emptying steam table and putting food away as per Food Safety guidelines

 

• Cleaning/washing steamtable and dishes including coffee pots.  Operate clean cycle on oven, as required

 

• Oversee Kitchen Helper and ensure all jobs are done in kitchen & dining room (Tables set,  condiments filled, etc )

 

• Ensure all end-of-day tasks are completed including lock-up

 

​Must be a compassionate, reliable, quick learner and enjoy working with Seniors. 

Successful completion of the Food Handlers’ course, a Criminal Record Check, and Vulnerable Sector check (or willingness to obtain) are a requirement.

Preference will be given to applicants with cooking experience.
